The Messiah is in Somerville!

On Thursday, December 11, the Somerville High School Chorus and Orchestra performed George Frideric Handel`s Messiah for a gathering of hundreds of students and faculty in the Centennial Auditorium at Somerville High.

Under the leadership of Mr. James Crowther, Chorusmaster; Ms, Rita M. Ranucci Orchestra Director; and Mr. Esdras R. Silva, Assoc. Orchestra Director, the Chorus and Orchestra presented a fine performance.

Solos were performed by Justin D. Billiard (tenor), Chiemeka J. Azubine (baritone), Kathryn Palmacci (soprano), Patricia Lynch (soprano), Rachel Donovan (mezzo-soprano) and Nancy Lawrence (soprano).

The SHS Chorus and Orchestra performed at the Somerville Museum on December 14, and performed on the Upper Rotunda of Faneuil Hall in Boston on December 16.
